The Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) said: “Delay in payment on the part of one who possesses the means, makes it lawful to dishonor and punish him.”.
وَعَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ اَلشَّرِيدِ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ
قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اَللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ -«لَيُّ اَلْوَاجِدِ يُحِلُّ عِرْضَهُ وَعُقُوبَتَهُ»

حسن. رواه البخاري معلقا (5 / 62)، ووصله أبو داود (3628)، والنسائي (7 / 316)، وأيضا ابن ماجه (3627)، وابن حبان (1164). وقال الحافظ في «الفتح «: «إسناده حسن». و«اللي «: المطل. و «الواجد «: الغني. علق البخاري عن سفيان قوله: عرضه: يقول: مطلتني. وعقوبته: الحبس. قلت: ودليل الحبس في الشريعة حديث بهز بن حكيم، عن أبيه، عن جده، أن النبي (صلى الله عليه وسلم) حبس رجلا في تهمة، ثم خلى عنه وهو حديث حسن، وقد خرجته في كتاب «الأقضية النبوية «لابن الطلاع يسر الله نشره-»
