The Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam), “Whoever digs a well, shall have forty cubits (of land) as resting place for his animals near the water.”.
وَعَنْ عَبْدِ اَللَّهِ بْنِ مُغَفَّلٍ رضى الله عنه
أَنَّ اَلنَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «مَنْ حَفَرَ بِئْرًا فَلَهُ أَرْبَعُونَ ذِرَاعًا عَطَنًا لِمَاشِيَتِهِ»

حسن. رواه ابن ماجه (2486) وسنده ضعيف كما قال الحافظ، لكن يشهد له حديث أبي هريرة عند أحمد (2 / 494)، وله شاهد آخر مرسل في «مراسيل «أبي داود»
