The Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) forbade al-Muzaraah (employing people on land for a share of the produce), and ordered al-Muajara (renting it out for cash).
وَعَنْ ثَابِتِ بْنِ اَلضَّحَّاكِ رضى الله عنه
«أَنَّ رَسُولَ اَللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَهَى عَنْ اَلْمُزَارَعَةِ بِالْمُؤَاجَرَةِ»
