I saw Ali (رضي الله عنه) say: I heard the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) forbid anyone to keep any of the meat of his sacrificial animal for more than three days.

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، أَنْبَأَنَا الزُّهْرِيُّ، عَنْ أَبِي عُبَيْدٍ، مَوْلَى عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ

قَالَ شَهِدْتُ عَلِيًّا رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَنْهَى أَنْ يُمْسِكَ أَحَدٌ مِنْ نُسُكِهِ شَيْئًا فَوْقَ ثَلَاثَةِ أَيَّامٍ
