Musnad Ahmad
Born in Baghdad and raised by his mother, he travelled for hadith from the age of fifteen and is said to have known a million narrations. The Musnad, arranged by the Companion who narrated rather than by subject, is the largest collection of the early period; the app carries the part of it that has been translated. Imprisoned and flogged for refusing to say the Qur'an was created, he held his ground, and the school of law bearing his name grew from his answers. He died in Baghdad at seventy seven.
