It is related that Ikrima said, “I asked Aishah, ‘Did you ever hear the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam), may Allah bless him and grant him peace, quoting poetry?’ She replied, ‘Sometimes when he entered a house, he would say, ‘News will come to you from someone you do not furnish with travel provisions.’*’”
