“I asked ‘Aishah (may Allah be well pleased with her) about the Quranic recitation of the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam): ‘Was he used to whispering the recitation, or pronouncing it audibly?’ She said: ‘He used to do both. He would sometimes whisper and sometimes speak audibly.’ I therefore said: ‘Praise be to Allah, who has granted us flexibility in the matter!’’”
