حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى، وَإِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، وَابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ، (وَاللَّفْظُ لِيَحْيَى)

قَالَ ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ حَدَّثَنَا وَقَالَ الآخَرَانِ، أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ عَمْرَةَ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، قَالَتْ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقْطَعُ السَّارِقَ فِي رُبْعِ دِينَارٍ فَصَاعِدًا

Aishah reported that the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) cut off the hand of a thief for a quarter of a dinar rid upwards.

মুহাম্মাদ ইবনুল মুসান্না (রহঃ) ..... আয়িশাহ (রাযিঃ) থেকে বর্ণিত। তিনি বলেন, রসূলুল্লাহ সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়াসাল্লাম ফজরের দু' রাকাআত (সুন্নাত) সালাত এত সংক্ষিপ্তভাবে আদায় করতেন যে, আমি বলতাম, তিনি (সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়াসাল্লাম) কি সালাতের দু' রাকাআতে সূরাহ ফাতিহাহ পড়েছেন? یحییٰ بن سعید نے کہا : مجھے محمد بن عبدالرحمان نے بتایا کہ انھوں نے عمرہ کوحضرت عائشہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہا سے حدیث بیان کرتے ہوئے سنا وہ کہا کرتی تھیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم صبح کی ( سنت ) دورکعتیں پڑھتے اور ان کو اتنا ہلکا پڑھتے کہ میں ( دل میں ) کہتی تھی : کیا آپ نے ان میں فاتحہ بھی پڑھی ہے یا نہیں؟ ( آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم عموما فاتحہ بھی بہت ٹھر ٹھر کر پڑھتے تھے ۔)

Dan telah menceritakan kepada kami [Muhammad bin Al Mutsanna] telah menceritakan kepada kami [Abdul Wahhab], katanya; aku mendengar [Yahya bin Said] berkata; telah mengabarkan kepadaku [Muhammad bin Abdurrahman] bahwa ia mendengar ['Amrah] menceritakan dari ['Aisyah], bahwa ia berkata; Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam sering shalat dua rakaat fajar dan meringankan raka'atnya hingga aku berkata dalam hari; "Apakah beliau membaca Alfatihah?

Bize yine Muhammedü'bnü'I - Müsennâ rivayet etti. (Dediki): iBze, Abdülvehhâb rivayet etti. Dedi ki: Ben, Yahya b. Saîd'den dinledim; dediki: Bana, Muhammed b. Abdirrahmân haber verdi. Kendisi, Amra'yı, Âişe'den nalken rivayet ederken dinlemiş ki, Âişe, şöyle diyormuş: «Resulullah (Sallallahu Aleyhi ve Sellem): Sabah namazının iki rek'ât sünnetini kılar ve o kadar hafîf tutardı ki, ben (kendi kendime) acaba bu iki rek'âtda Ümmü'l-Kur'ân'ı okudumu derdim.!»

What it teaches

• Theft is of the major sins.
• Allah Almighty has determined the thief's punishment, which is cutting off his hand, as He says: {As for the thief, male or female, amputate their hands.} [Surat al-Mā’idah: 38] The Sunnah has clarified the conditions of such amputation.
• The word "hand" in the Hadīth refers to cutting off the palm from the joint between it and the forearm.
• One of the rationales behind cutting off a thief's hand is to protect people's property and deter other transgressors.
• A dinar is a Mithqāl (unit of weight) of gold, currently equivalent to 4.25 grams of 24-karat gold; thus, a quarter of a dinar is equal to a little over a gram.
