وَعَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ
أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: «لأخرِجنَّ اليهودَ والنصَارى من جزيرةِ الْعَرَب حَتَّى لَا أَدَعَ فِيهَا إِلَّا مُسْلِمًا» وَفِي رِوَايَةٍ: «لَئِنْ عِشْتُ إِنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ لَأُخْرِجَنَّ الْيَهُودَ وَالنَّصَارَى مِنْ جَزِيرَةِ الْعَرَبِ»
Jabir ibn Abdallah said he was told by Umar ibn al-Khattab that he had heard God’s Messenger say, “I will certainly expel the Jews and the Christians from Arabia so as to leave only Muslims in it.” Muslim transmitted it. A version has, “If I live, God willing, I will certainly expel the Jews and the Christians from Arabia.”
