Al-Mustadrid ibn Shaddad told that he heard the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) say, “He who acts as a governor for us must get a wife; if he has not a servant he must get one, and if he has not a dwelling he must get one.” A version says, “He who takes anything else than that is acting unfaithfully.”
