Abdullah ibn Mughaffal was sitting beside a nephew of his, the nephew hurled a pebble and he told him not to do that, and he said: “The Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) had forbidden that.

He (the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam)) said: ‘It cannot be used for hunting and it cannot harm an enemy, but it may break a tooth or put an eye out.’ He said.” His nephew hurled another pebble and he (“Abdullah ibn Mughaffal) said: ‘I tell you that the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) forbade that (and you go hurl another pebble)? I will never speak to you again.’”

Abdullah bin Muğaffel r.a.’den rivayet edildiğine göre yeğeni (erkek kardeşinin oğlu) onun yanında oturuyordu. Yeğeni sapan ile fiske taşını attı. Abdullah onu taş atmaktan men etti ve dedi ki; “Resulullah s.a.v., sapanla fiske taşını atmayı yasakladı ve; <Sapanla atılan taş ile av avlanmaz, düşman da yaralanmaz –kırılmaz- öldürülmez ve muhakkak diş kırar, göz yaralar –çıkarır-.> buyurdu.”

Abdullah’ın yeğeni tekrar sapanla taş atınca Abdullah ona; “Ben sana Resulullah s.a.v.’in sapanla taş atmayı yasakladığına dair hadis-i şerif okuyorum sen yine taş atmaya başladın artık bundan sonra ilelebed seninle konuşmayacağım”, dedi
