I met thirteen or more of the Companions of the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam), all of them made the one who swears to stay away from his wife, return to her or divorce her (at the end of the period).
وَعَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ يَسَارٍ
قَالَ: «أَدْرَكْتُ بِضْعَةَ عَشَرَ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ اَلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كُلُّهُمْ يَقِفُونَ اَلْمُؤْلِي»
