The Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) used to remove his ring when entering the lavatory.
عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ رضى الله عنه
قَالَ: «كَانَ رَسُولُ اَللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: إِذَا دَخَلَ اَلْخَلَاءَ وَضَعَ خَاتَمَهُ»
