The Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) said one statement and I said another. The Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) said “Whoever dies while still invoking anything other than Allah as a rival to Allah, will enter Hell (Fire).” And I said, “Whoever dies without invoking anything as a rival to Allah, will enter Paradise.”

O 'her kim Allah'ın dışında [O'na] denk [tuttuğu] birine ibadet ederken ölürse cehenneme girer,' buyurdu. Ben de 'Her kim, Allah'a ortak koşmadan ölürse cennete girer,' dedim." Fethu'l-Bari Açıklaması: "İnsanlardan bazıları Allah'tan başkasını O'na denk tanrılar edinir de, onları Allah'ı sever gibi severler.[Bakara 165] İmam Buharı bu ayetin tefsıri başlığı altında İbn Mes'ud'dan nakledilen hçıdisi zikretti. Bu hadisin açıklaması "Kitabu'l-cenaiz"in baş tarafında geçmişti
