The Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam), may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, “It is not lawful for a Muslim man to separate himself from his brother for more than three days. When they meet, and one turns away and the other turns away, the better of them is the one who gives the greeting first.”
