Salamah ibn al-Akwa reported that the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam), may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, “As for your sacrifices, none of you should have any of it left in his house after a period of three days. When the following year came, they aid, ‘Messenger of Allah, should we do the same as we did last year?’ He said, ‘Eat and store up, That was a year in which we were in difficulty and I wanted you to help.’”
