حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو النَّضْرِ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ ثَابِتٍ، حَدَّثَنَا حَسَّانُ بْنُ عَطِيَّةَ، عَنْ أَبِي مُنِيبٍ الْجُرَشِيِّ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ

قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «مَنْ تَشَبَّهَ بِقَوْمٍ فَهُوَ مِنْهُمْ»

The Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) said: He who copies any people is one of them.

ইবনু উমার (রাঃ) সূত্রে বর্ণিত। তিনি বলেন, রাসূলুল্লাহ সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়াসাল্লাম বলেছেনঃ যে ব্যক্তি বিজাতির সাদৃশ্য অবলম্বন করে, সে তাদের দলভুক্ত গণ্য হবে।[1] হাসান সহীহ।

عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما کہتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: جس نے کسی قوم کی مشابہت اختیار کی تو وہ انہیں میں سے ہے ۔

What it teaches

• We are warned of imitating disbelievers and wicked people.
• We are urged to imitate the righteous and follow in their footsteps.
• Outward imitation brings about inward love.
• A person will be sinful and worthy of punishment in accordance with the type and degree of his imitation of them.
• The prohibition regarding the imitation of the disbelievers pertains to their religion and peculiar habits. Other things, like learning professions and so on, do not fall under this prohibition.
