Surah Al-Muddaththir 74

سُورَةُ المُدَّثِّرِ“The Cloaked One”56 Ayat

  1. 74:1O you who covers himself [with a garment],
  2. 74:2Arise and warn
  3. 74:3And your Lord glorify
  4. 74:4And your clothing purify
  5. 74:5And uncleanliness avoid
  6. 74:6And do not confer favor to acquire more
  7. 74:7But for your Lord be patient.
  8. 74:8And when the trumpet is blown,
  9. 74:9That Day will be a difficult day
  10. 74:10For the disbelievers - not easy.
  11. 74:11Leave Me with the one I created alone
  12. 74:12And to whom I granted extensive wealth
  13. 74:13And children present [with him]
  14. 74:14And spread [everything] before him, easing [his life].
  15. 74:15Then he desires that I should add more.
  16. 74:16No! Indeed, he has been toward Our verses obstinate.
  17. 74:17I will cover him with arduous torment.
  18. 74:18Indeed, he thought and deliberated.
  19. 74:19So may he be destroyed [for] how he deliberated.
  20. 74:20Then may he be destroyed [for] how he deliberated.
  21. 74:21Then he considered [again];
  22. 74:22Then he frowned and scowled;
  23. 74:23Then he turned back and was arrogant
  24. 74:24And said, "This is not but magic imitated [from others].
  25. 74:25This is not but the word of a human being."
  26. 74:26I will drive him into Saqar.
  27. 74:27And what can make you know what is Saqar?
  28. 74:28It lets nothing remain and leaves nothing [unburned],
  29. 74:29Blackening the skins.
  30. 74:30Over it are nineteen [angels].
  31. 74:31And We have not made the keepers of the Fire except angels. And We have not made their number except as a tria…
  32. 74:32No! By the moon
  33. 74:33And [by] the night when it departs
  34. 74:34And [by] the morning when it brightens,
  35. 74:35Indeed, the Fire is of the greatest [afflictions]
  36. 74:36As a warning to humanity -
  37. 74:37To whoever wills among you to proceed or stay behind.
  38. 74:38Every soul, for what it has earned, will be retained
  39. 74:39Except the companions of the right,
  40. 74:40[Who will be] in gardens, questioning each other
  41. 74:41About the criminals,
  42. 74:42[And asking them], "What put you into Saqar?"
  43. 74:43They will say, "We were not of those who prayed,
  44. 74:44Nor did we used to feed the poor.
  45. 74:45And we used to enter into vain discourse with those who engaged [in it],
  46. 74:46And we used to deny the Day of Recompense
  47. 74:47Until there came to us the certainty."
  48. 74:48So there will not benefit them the intercession of [any] intercessors.
  49. 74:49Then what is [the matter] with them that they are, from the reminder, turning away
  50. 74:50As if they were alarmed donkeys
  51. 74:51Fleeing from a lion?
  52. 74:52Rather, every person among them desires that he would be given scriptures spread about.
  53. 74:53No! But they do not fear the Hereafter.
  54. 74:54No! Indeed, the Qur'an is a reminder
  55. 74:55Then whoever wills will remember it.
  56. 74:56And they will not remember except that Allah wills. He is worthy of fear and adequate for [granting] forgivene…
