“I asked Aishah (may Allah the Exalted be well pleased with her) about the fasting of the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam). She said: ‘He used to fast until we would say: ‘He has fasted,’ and he used to break fast until we would say: ‘He has broken fast.’’ She also said: ‘The Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) did not fast for a whole month after arriving in Medina, with the exception of Ramadan.’”
